The meh: BioShock is a shooter made in 2006, and plays like one. Even if it has been spoiled, it's still worthwhile. If you have no idea what awaits you in BioShock though, then it's absolutely a journey worth taking. So the spoilers may take some of the shine off the apple.
That being said, this game has been around a long time, and the odds of you having it not spoiled not even a little bit has probably required a conscious effort on your part. And if you are going into it completely blind, it's even cooler. The Good: the design and story are amazing, especially if you are going into it without any spoilers. I personally loved it, but I played it when it came out and haven't revisited it much since then, so I'll try and give you an unbiased review of it.
